- Christmas greetings of Thalapathi M.K.Stalin
The horrendous acts of violence world over are threats and a great challenge to the humanity. Measures to control and contain those indulging in violence are being taken in various ways. At the same time, the duty and responsibility of protecting younger generations from turning to the path of violence, rest with all.
The Christmas Day, marking the birth of Jesus Christ, is the most appropriate day to tell the younger generations that indulging in violence and conspiracies as outbursts of annoyance, despair and hatred will never yield good results and that only acts of love and compassion have achieve longstanding victories in the world.
Even when he was crucified for the ‘sin’ of emanating ideas for the change of humanity, Jesus Christ pleaded for pardoning his tormenters and his life underlines humanitarianism beyond the limitations of religion. That is why historians have divided the period of human society on the basis of before and after the death of Christ. Even after 2000 years, the life of Jesus is imparting valuable ideals for the present generations also.
Let us realize that violence will not be a solution to local and international problems and only through acts of love and compassion can the problems be solved, and pledge to tread that path. In the good rule in Tamil Nadu during the past two and half years, various schemes flowing from love and compassion have been implemented. The list of such schemes in the interests of human society, like Re One a kg. rice, monthly financial assistance for pregnant women, financial assistance of Rs.15,000 for the marriage of poor girls etc., is endless. It is relevant to point out such compassionate schemes on the Birthday of Jesus Christ.
Remembering on this day the involvement and implementation of schemes in the interests of Christians by the Government led by Kalaignar, who is concerned about the welfare of minorities, I convey my greetings to all sections of the Christian community. Let violence and plots go away and love and compassion flourish!
